Love the contrasting thread repair! Must remember this when I get around to fixing our own sofa cushions!

Ugh, don’t you love the arms of furniture that go like that? Our old couch arms are the same, and we certainly don’t have the financial resources to buy another one. I had some particularly ugly prequilted fabric kicking around. Using that as the base, I sewed some nice quilty sort of patterns on the “wrong” side of the pieces, Measure from front of the arm to the body of the couch, that will be your width. Measure from the seat of the chair to across and over the arm itself for length. After doing whatever you want to do with the design, fold the piece in half with right sides facing and sew. Pull it over the arm of the chair and tuck the pointy bit in and pin. Sew along this line and you have a nicely mitered cover for the arms of your chair.
